Reepicheep and Matthias

I've been reading Redwall and Narnia (via audiobook) and decided that this had to happen.

There are so many similarities!! I mean, sword-wielding mice and wise old badgers?! I think I've got to do one with Constance and Trufflehunter. (Sparra vs. Phoenix )

I based the design for Reepicheep off the 3D character design in the movie of Prince Caspian. I've never seen a Redwall movie, though I'm pretty sure there's one out there. I've seen screenshots. *shudder* They make Matthias look so silly. I wanted him to look like he was in the thick of battle, not like the floppy-sandaled mouse he was in the beginning of the book.

I'd like to do more fanart from these books someday...I have a few Narnia-related sketches underway currently.
