Spring is nearing...nearing....
with clear skies and grass peering
  up through the debris.

The trees, once solitary skeletons
                       sober and somber
are interrupted by a barely perceptible haze
                                                               a haze of pale green
                                                               a haze of life

                              not yet leaves
                            the wind breathes
through the wispy ends of branches
      and they
    move.

They move as winter never moved them.

Some buds boldly burst from
sickly dry twigs of other trees
                   and they seem so tittering
                                       and glittering with newness

I almost bend my head
         to lend an ear
                   and listen for fizzing
                                   or buzzing
                                         of frantic life.
I wrote this on a walk through university in the springtime...it can mean so many different things to me. A simple observation about budding life? An invitation to open hearts? An inspiration to be reborn, like the trees in spring?
I love the feeling I get in spring; the feeling of frantic life about to begin, the urgency in acts as simple as breathing.

...They move as winter never moved them...

that line makes me soar.

Honest.
I wish, I wish I could have seen the day that inspired these halting whispered words. They shine like grass coming up through old leaves. I see spring in this. I feel cold sunlight. I feel new. Thankyou
